Romy is a nutrition professional, health educator, and professional speaker specializing in the design, development and implementation of strategic employee wellness programs. Romy has over twenty years of wellness consulting experience, as well as program management, and nutrition, fitness and health education. She is a culture and engagement leader, creating awareness to improve organizational culture and performance.   

Romy is a Nutrition and Dietetics Technician, Registered (NDTR), certified personal trainer (ACSM, NASM), and National Board-Certified Health and Well-being Coach (NBC-HWC). She holds an associates of science degree in Dietetics, a bachelor's degree in Anthropology and a master’s degree in education. She has taught nutrition at Arizona community colleges part-time for over 18 years. Early in her career, Romy provided group, individual and family nutrition and fitness counseling. She was a media spokesperson appearing on local TV nutrition segments and competed in eight amateur fitness and figure competitions between 1996 and 2005, earning three Ms. Fitness Arizona titles.  She was named Arizona Nutrition and Dietetics Technician, Registered of the Year in 2009.

He is President of the Human Resources Institute, LLC, a research, publishing, and consulting firm that focuses on the creation of supportive cultural environments. Dr. Allen has assisted several hundred government, business, and community settings to bring about lasting and positive culture change. 

Dr. Allen has authored more than 50 books, journal articles, training manuals and software titles. His most recent books are We Flourish, 103 Challenges for Manager-Led Wellness, Leading for Purpose, Culture Change Planner, The Social Climate Toolkit, The Cultural Analysis Toolkit, A Family Guide to Wellness, Kitchen Table Talks for Wellness, Bringing Wellness Home, Wellness Leadership and Healthy Habits, Helpful Friends.

In 2020, he co-founded HealthyCultureNow a training and podcast company with a mission to add a culture of well-being toolkit to organization’s wellness programs. 

He also directs the Healthy Culture Research and Education Foundation. Dr. Allen serves on the editorial board of the American Journal of Health Promotion. 

He has served as on the Board of Directors of the National Wellness Institute, as a Senior Research Analyst at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and on the Vermont Governor’s Council for Physical Fitness and Sports.

She  currently resides in Portland, Oregon, with her cat, Fizz.
